The Yellow Bags are an initiative of the Rt. Rev. David Rice, Bishop of the San Joaquin Diocese. The bags are made of a lightweight, durable yellow fabric and filled with necessities including a light blanket, socks, toiletries, water, and snacks. St. Michael’s also filled the Yellow Bags with information about our monthly Food Pantry Day, and Kern County Senior Box Day.

Once assembled, the bags can be stored in one’s vehicle, ready and available should we spot a neighbor in need. We hope the bags will also spark meaningful and compassionate conversations about what we can do to help out those less fortunate in our community, while being a small reminder of God’s presence and grace.
