Angela was born in the Seattle area. She received her BA in Intercultural Ministry, and later, her MA in Missional Leadership from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. In 2014 Angela received an internship at Grace Episcopal Church in Nampa, ID where she later began the discernment process for ordination to the priesthood.

During Angela’s time at Grace, she was part of a team who thought creatively about ministry. Her congregation transitioned to a bilingual congregation in Spanish and English, started a rent-free house for single-mother’s pursuing education, as well as a stole business that has funded parts of their ministries for the last four years, just to name a few. This type of outreach ministry, mixed with creative and welcoming liturgy, is at the heart of Angela’s call to ordained ministry.

Angela attended Church Divinity School of the Pacific Seminary in Berkeley, CA for a year in order to complete her Certificate of Anglican Studies. After graduating in May of 2019, she returned to Idaho in order to complete her Clinical Pastoral Education in the local hospital. She, God willing and the people consenting, will be ordained to the transitional diaconate later this year.

Angela married Federico (Rico) in 2013. Rico immigrated to the United States as a 12 year old from Uruguay and is fluent in Spanish and English. He is a construction foreman, building fences, decks and arbors. Rico enjoys working on projects, and building items for their home. Together they have three large dogs who keep them busy.

They enjoy hiking, kayaking, and camping together. They also love taking the longer route to get to their destination, even if it adds a few extra hours to their journey. They enjoy trying local breweries and supporting Angela’s coffee shop addiction. Angela is a pretend quilter on and off throughout her time, and Rico supports this habit by cutting her fabric perfectly. They both enjoy reading in the hammock and cuddling with the puppies on the couch.

Angela will begin in the office on September 9.

Her email will be: dioadmin@diosanjoaquin.org
