Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Madera

Holy Trinity is reaching out to two community projects. The Christmas Basket Program has been one of our major Outreach projects for many years. Trinity’s Doug Nelson, a longtime member, has helped lead the program for over 30 years. Our annual Christmas Basket Raffle fundraiser, as well as personal donations, have helped donate money to provide food and toys for those in need in our community during the holidays.

Each year 300 families register to receive a large “Christmas basket box” filled with food items and toys for children. Bags of rice, beans etc. are helping to feed these families. Community donations and support help to keep this much needed program alive each holiday season.

What began as a “Missional Bag” project has turned into on-going support for a community organization dedicated to helping people as they reshape their lives. Our deliveries of much – needed daily supplies to the Madera Rescue Mission, a Christ-centered program, are gratefully appreciated. Known for its recovery programs, as well as temporary shelter for both single men and women and transitional housing for families, the MRM answers a great need in the community of Madera.

At this time, we are supporting MRM’s women and children’s facilities. This might change weekly. Daily needs items collected in the missional bags, as well as cold weather items, blankets, scarves, hats, and gloves are being delivered. Each trip provides a different list of items needed at that time.

Holy Trinity is grateful to be able to help support the Madera ChristmasBasket Program and Madera Rescue Mission, as both groups offer much needed help and comfort to our community!
