Church of Our Saviour, HanfordMark your calendars now for the San Joaquin Episcopal Diocesan Convention which promises to be a special and important gathering for Episcopalians in this diocese with something for everyone. The convention begins with afternoon registration and a cook out on Friday, with the first set of workshops that evening.

Bishop Jerry Lamb, Canon Mark Hall, and Dn. Suzie WardGather and Work: The business of the convention is scheduled for 10:00 to 12:00 PM on Saturday, to continue after lunch, only as needed.

Gather and Learn: There will be numerous informative workshops for all ages, to pique your interest and to enrich your understanding of ourMarshall Johnston, President of Remain Episcopal Episcopal faith and heritage. There will be panel discussions for new faith communities and for newsletter editors and web masters. There will be workshops for Eucharistic Visitors and for Lay Readers. Other workshops will teach participants how to make time for God and nurture a life of faith. There will be opportunities to learn how to pray in color, to involve your parish in mission engagement, to plan your stewardship campaign and legacy giving. Or you may choose to come to a workshop where you will have the opportunity to engage in conversation with Bishop Lamb. Children may choose to learn liturgical dance, make streamers for the Sunday church service, or participate in eco activities that teach the wonders of God's creation and how to honor His command to be stewards of his creation. The full description of workshops will be presented soon in a mailing of convention materials.

Gather and Eat: Join us for hamburgers and hot dogs on Friday evening, for appetizers and a Deanery dessert competition on Saturday evening.

Worship at St. John'sGather and Worship: The convention will culminate on Sunday in one grand Eucharistic service involving all participants.

Register by downloading and completing the registration form.  Return by mail with your check by September 10 for early registration.  Pre-registration must be received by October 5.  Registration after October 5 and at the door will not include dinner due to catering requirements.
