Bishop Lamb asks clergy to confirm status

In a letter mailed on July 10, 2008 Bishop Jerry Lamb has asked all deacons and priests of the Diocese of San Joaquin to decide whether they will uphold their ordination vows to "...conform to the doctrine, discipline and worship of The Episcopal Church." Clergy have been given until August 5 to state their intent in writing to the diocesan office in Stockton.

Diocese of San Joaquin files amended lawsuit

The lawsuit initially filed by The Episcopal Church and the Diocese of San Joaquin against John-David Schofield, former bishop of the Diocese of San Joaquin, has been amended on the basis of new information gathered about recent transfers of real and personal property and assets to entities formed by Mr. Schofield and his attorney sometime in early April of 2008. The former bishop was deposed by the Episcopal House of Bishops on March 12, 2008.

CANADA: Churches must share buildings

An Ontario judge ruled on May 5 that the Diocese of Niagara should be allowed to share three church buildings where congregations have voted to leave the Anglican Church of Canada over theological issues that include blessing ceremonies for gay couples.
